A glimpse into what it is like to live in our home just this moment.

Intentional Outdoor Hours: 483+ hours (of 1000)
We are still in the fairly warm stage of fall with just that hint of cooler weather in the mornings and at night. I know it is so cliche and dumb, but honestly I love fall so much. Those cool breezes with the sun shining down makes my heart so light and joyful.

Reading and finishing The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. I really loved the characters so very much. Beautiful story-telling and hopefully someday this becomes a movie because it would be a perfect adaptation of one! I started I'm Still Here, Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown.

Hoco week at CT which meant themed days for school and then the homecoming parade and Varsity football game on Friday night. The little three and I set up our parade spot with our Garretson cousins, Kuma, and Mimi on the side of the road. The rest of the Studer crew walked in the parade with their teams and even saved us candy (even though we didn't need it because holy candy stash, batman). After the parade, I stayed at the game with all the kids for a little (B is in the box for the Varsity offense) and then left a little after the first quarter because these fall nights are getting chilly - and Olive was over it big time.

Cleaning the fish tank and switching out the stones. What a big job! (we have a 50 gallon tank). but it really needed done and it looks so much better now with the new blue stones. Have I said yet that I really don't love a fish tank? It is 100% Brandon that we even have a fish tank, but he had one all the way from college and literally one of the fish in the tank has lived all that time since his dorm room - his catfish is 16 years old?!

Tending to runny-nosed kiddos. Just regular seasonal stuff, but remember how babies and toddlers don't know how to blow their noses yet? hah. So it's a lot of wiping and saline nose spraying, and Vick's vaporubbing over here.

Scratching because ughhhh, poison ivy. I must of got it on our acorn hunting walks (?) but it is driving me nuts. I have a small patch of poison ivy between my pointer and middle finger on my right hand and another small section on the inside of my left arm.

Volunteering at the kids' school for marathon fun days. Brandon attended Violet's on Thursday and traveled around with the first grade class playing games and then I went on Friday to be with Gemma's fourth grade class. (thank you Abba for babysitting the little ones so I could go!) The kids always have such a great time at marathon fun days and we were glad to be able to chaperone too!

Volunteering again at the elementary school's annual color run. Grey and Violet ran alongside Aunt Kitty while the rest of us set up camp at the blue color station and did our thing. Red had a blast and was covered from head to toe in blue color. Even Olive was in on the action as B had her in the carrier. The kids and Aunt Kitty did awesome and we all had a great morning!

Celebrating our freshly minted seven year old! Her party is planned for next week, but we tried to make her actual birthday special too. Aunt Kitty and (honorary) Uncle Michael took her to a painting class on Thursday night and then on Saturday after the color run we sang to her over a chocolate croissant at the track (hah). On Saturday night, her aunts, cousin Wells, and Bryan all joined us to watch The Quiet Place II for our spooky movie loving girl. We had pizza and ice cream cake and everyone was sufficiently creeped out for the rest of the evening - hah!

Sporting with one practice for football or cheer for all three biggest kids. We played at CV on Sunday and the game was in honor of Olivia Red who was 20 years old and driving a co-worker home from work when she was killed by a drunk driver. Her sisters created an organization called the LivRed Foundation and they are dedicated to spreading kindness, just as their sister did in her life. We are friends with her sisters and her nephews played basketball for Brandon. We were so proud to play in the game to support the organization and promote kindness. Donations were accepted for winter hats & gloves to be donated as the seasons change as well as donations and tshirt sells went to the foundation.

Making chicken and dumplings in the crockpot, sheet pan kielbasa, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts, meatball sub sammies, Korean ground turkey and broccoli over rice, buffalo chicken dip with veggie & cracker dippers, and ravioli casserole. I also made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies on the first day of autumn (they are a favorite). For Violet's birthday breakfast I whipped up a double batch of chocolate croissants to take with us to the color run.
