Rust rocked it this week in homeschool pre-k; we really both had a lot of fun learning about bears. Again I used the
5 senses Literature curriculum to guide my planning and then pinsearched and used free teachers pay teacher resources to help build out our week. We took two hike this week and spent a lot of time out on the back patio which is really what I want homeschool to be about for my little man. This extra year at home is going to be about learning mostly through free and risky play (outdoors as much as possible) and just being a little boy. I am so grateful to get to be here with him learning and playing.
Rust was so proud of his memory verse this week - a tongue twister! He practiced a million times and was excited to recite it to anyone we saw last week. (thanks everyone for listening and cheering him on). I was especially proud because Rust has struggled with speech, so it was so great to hear him master that tongue twister and say it loud and proud!
Our favorite activity for sure was the Gummi Bear Osmosis experiment. I really didn't know what to expect, but checking on the plain water solution gummi bear about 18 hours later had us laughing so hard! What a shock it was to see just how huge it would grow! We tried to keep it in water for even longer, but it started to bust apart - we said it got so big it exploded! I used Hasbro Gummi Bears and it got a lot bigger than
the experiment I watched on Youtube for the inspiration...so maybe the brand is specific for how good it will work (?)
