Intentional Outdoor Hours: 86+ hours (of 1000)
It's been beautiful outside; warm but not too hot. Raining but only at night. The flowers are blooming and the grass is so green, and it feels so much like the end of the school year it's hanging in the air. The sunrises and sunsets are putting on spectacular shows and we even had the surprise Aurora Borealis this week! Reddy is anxious for the lightening bugs to make their appearance and asks almost every night to check to see if there are any out for us to try to catch (no luck yet, but soon baby!

Reading The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride

The storage container is here! Are we storing velociraptors in it? Maybeeeee. Hah, at least that's what the kids and I are pretending because it is huge and there are about a million door handles to get it open/shut. We have yet to load anything into it and I'm daydreaming about letting Violet do some incredible mural on it...but for now, it's in and we are grateful. (thank you Pap & Gigi!)

Hiking with cousins at the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail just like Aunt Kitty and Bryan. I wanted to give Uch and Kev a little baby time, so the kids and I picked up Heath and Wells for a Sunday afternoon hike and we found salamanders and hiked almost 4 miles together! On the way back out of the trail I looked at the four big kids and said, "Okay guys, we have 5 bigger people and 4 babies and Osa. Everyone is going to have to dig in and be helpful. We have babies to carry and a dog to navigate out of here." Bless those big kids who piggy-backed those babies out of there with me and we made it! We love you Kitty & Bryan! Thank you for inspiring us!

Screaming for our Miss Baylee who became District Champion at the high jump! She is amazing and we are so proud to call her our babysitter. Way to go Miss Baylee - on to States!

Grateful that B was able to chaperone Violet's field trip to the Somerset Historical Society. I have chaperoned that trip in the past and it is actually so interesting and cool to learn about our region so long ago. They had a good time and I always appreciate receiving texted photos throughout the day of the kids' fun.

Clapping for Violet who had her spring concert this week. They did a collection of holiday songs and it was very sweet. She looked beautiful and was proud to sing with her classmates.

Planning the babies' birthday party. We are doubling up and doing one party for the two of them and since they both love bubblegum most of all in the world - we are having a Double Bubble party. I reserved a bounce house/water slide combo too from Flood City Party Rentals because they are amazing and the kids will be so thrilled!

What in the Aurora Borealis?! Um, thank you solar flare explosion! My facebook feed was filled with incredible sky photos from our neighbors and friends who didn't fall asleep at 7p (like B and I did that night?!) I woke up at 11p to a text from my friend and fellow teacher Chad that said, "Tell me you are seeing this?!" and I was like "What?!?!?" By the time I made it outside it was mostly hazed over, but I could still see the shading of the sky was off - all purples and reds. Very cool and thankful that so many people shared their great photos of it.

Picking up my book haul from Young Heart Books & Toys in Westmont.  I put in an order for Betting on You by Lynn Painter, Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann, I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys, and Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh (for Violet's Bookies & Cookies book club!) My friend Renee who is the bookstore owner is doing incredible things up there - if you are local you should definitely check out her summer Boozy Book Fair events (a book fair with adult beverages; my actual daydreams come to life!)

Datenight! Hah, it was actually a panic run to get supplies for the luncheon we were hosting on Mother's day/Grey's confirmation - but we are counting it. The big kids babysit and B and I went to the grocery store, Tractor Supply, and out to eat at Tailgatez. It was blissful and kind of a Mother's day gift in and of itself.

Kitty & Bryan PCT Update: 600 miles! Please tell me you are following her on instagram (@kankla ) if you're not you are missing out major. They walked 8 miles through a windmill farm this week! She said it was actually so tough to walk against the wind but also all the debris (sand, etc) blowing in her face.

Teaching by subbing this week. On Monday, I taught 6th grade ELA, Tuesday was 4th grade STEM with a walking field trip to the high school library! Wednesday was 3rd grade ELA, and then 2nd grade learning support on Thursday. On Friday, I was at the high school bouncing to various freshman classes that needed subs for the day (government, then Algebra 1, then Biology, then a study hall!) It is kind of nice to not have any planning or grading in these last few weeks but also the switching it up everyday is a kind of exhausting in its own right. Only 3 more weeks to go until summer break!

Sporting with 4U soccer practice with Reddy and Coach Momma. Rusty and Violet had one 10U soccer game with asst coach Momma. Gemma had two 12U soccer games this week and we all had AYSO photos. Vi had a Sparks soccer practice and a Sparks home game at Kidsport on Friday. Grey had 2 JR&S (pony league city ball) baseball practices and 3 school baseball games this week.  B had the playoff Franklin basketball game on Sunday and made it to the championship on Tuesday night and they won! Champions two years in a row - yay Daddy! I'm working with the coaches to help organize the upcoming golf outing fundraiser - so I finalized the sponsorship letter & event flyer this week to send out!

Making spaghetti, sloppy joes with homemade mac&cheese and roasted broccoli, crockpot chicken over rice, take out pizza, "cheater" chicken parm, and breakfast for dinner: pancakes, bagels, banana bread, and potatoes.

Yummy Keto food this week: smoothie bowl (1/2 avocado, frozen berries, protein powder topped with blueberries & coconut! yummmm)
