A peek into what it is like to live in our home just this minute.

Intentional Outdoor Hours: 149+ hours' (of 1000)
Up 23 hours this week and beating my this week last year's time" by 15 hours!

Reading Erotic Stories for Punjabi Women by Balli Kaur Jaswal still for our Books & Brews book club. I've dropped two books into my Amazon cart as well (ahem) including Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens because in the last three days alone, I have had two different people tell me I must read it. And They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera which sounds so interesting and is on our ProjectLit list for the year!

Celebrating a late Mother's day with Gigi on Sunday and enjoying a delicious meal she made and the kids ran all over the pool cover. Gem was thrilled to discover that she can ride Grey's quad solo (Grey is less thrilled, hah) and we got to spend the day with cousin Gracie too who slept over the night before (always a bonus for the big kids who adore her).

Smiling during Violet's preschool promotion ceremony. She sang and danced her way proudly through their songs (she got to solo announce the "Months of the Year!" song) and so grateful that she has such wonderful teachers who love and encourage her (and Rust too!) We are feeling a little worried about the upcoming year because she doesn't quite understand that all of her little besties are moving up to Kindergarten while she doesn't make the age cut off with her late September birthday. She's going to be heartbroken to return to the Learning Lamp without Grady, Hunter, and Cassidy - we haven't discussed it yet with her, but we're determined to stay friends with those sweet kiddos who she loves so much!

Starting our Roxbury co-ed volleyball league officially. We had our first game on Tuesday night and B had to miss it because of a baseball game. I have enlisted a former student (Maddy) to play on our team and she did great and was so sweet. We did meh, but we have to get the rust off from taking the winter off, ya know?

Chaperoning Gemma's class field trip to Camp Sequanota for the day. We did a bunch of activities including a hike and a nature scavenger hunt. It was nice to spend the day with Gem and her little friends who asked me how to say a million things in Spanish (hah). When we got home Grey asked Gem, "I'm going to faint if you say no to this but - did any other kid hold mom's hand on the field trip?" and Gem was like, "yeah. I KNOW." hahahhaa, it makes them nuts to see another classmate want to be near me so we have to chat a little bit about how I get to be their Momma every day and night and sometimes other kids just need someone to look them in the face and smile and listen to their stories. It's now apparently a running joke in this house.

Setting limits on how many times Alexa can be asked to play Old Town Road a day. Grey had it on literal repeat for seven songs until I was like, "OMIGOSH, we are done with Old Town Road and Alexa today!" hahhaha

Hugging my seniors goodbye at graduation! My first batch of students graduated on Friday night and Gem came with me as my date. The ceremony was lovely and the students' and principal's speeches were touching. I am so very proud to have had even the tiniest moment in their lives - I can't wait to see all the incredible things they will do with their lives. Congrats class of 2019!

Surprising Uch with a 30th birthday party at our parents' house. Well, kind of a surprise because she picks up on everything, so it was a surprise in the details. It turned out to be a beautiful day (with a fun squeeze-under-the-pavilion-during-the-thunderstorm moment). Our sister Kayla and Uch's Kevin did all the planning - the food was incredible, and all the little details were perfect-Uchie. They enlisted Dan McNulty from Take 3 Video Productions to create the most touching video for her and it had us all in happy tears.

Spring Sporting with all the soccer games ever (hah). Gem had two games, Violet and I had three games, and then I also coached our cousin, Tausha's team because she was on vacation! Grey and B only had one baseball game this week and on Sunday, Grey had the all-star baseball try-out.

Teaching and finishing up the last units of the year! Spanish 1 worked on finishing their Brandon Brown Quiere un Perro final project, Spanish 1 Honors watched the last installment of Billy y las Botas and created a paper doll outfit for SeƱor Legalos and gave mini presentations. Spanish 2 finished their book Tumba and took a final dictation quiz. Spanish 2 Honors finished their book Esperanza and completed a walk-around quiz. And Spanish 3 Honors finished their solo read of their book of choice and completed a 'book report' about it using an Instagram template. Everyone turned in their LMA passes who had enough to be exempt from the final (next week!)

Enjoying Field Day on Tuesday. Student council and some of our teachers created a Color Wars competition for the grades including races, Family Feud, Tug-of-war, a Spelling bee, etc. The whole day each grade had students sign up to compete in the various events and then they received a score. I manned the Nerf War station (hah!) and at the end of the day, Seniors came out as the overall winners!

Making "Make More" meatballs in the crockpot over mashed potatoes and ham and cheese sandwiches (and baked sliders for B and I) with noodle soup.
