Intentional Outdoor Hours: 543+ hours (of 1000)
The weather is still hanging on to comfortable over here, cool but comfortable and I'll take it for as long as we can get it! The leaves are changing (still lots of green though) and sweatshirts are mostly enough to keep us warm - although the football game on Friday night really gave us a taste of weather to come. I was very grateful for my heated vest!

Reading The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson and Strange Pictures by UTSEKOU. Really in the spooky season vibes over here!

Celebrating Heath's birthday at Abba and Chum's house. We had Abba's lasagna, mini ice cream cups, and even a pinata! Some of the kids and I took a hike up the hillside path and even had a little company in a random neighborhood kitty that we called Bootsie (hah). Gah, the beauty of the fall! I never can get over the colors and the crunching of leaves under foot.

Taking a day off because two of my girls had teeth appointments and then I was like - I could actually use a breather anyway! Gemma had her last ortho appointment and got cleared to change her retainers to night only in one more month! She is so excited and I'm proud that she has worked so hard to follow the rules! Olive had a dentist appointment to replace her filling that came out and I was so nervous about it because the first go around was so traumatic for everyone involved (me too! LOL). But she did awesome this time and she is all patched back up. what a relief. Pappy asked for us to stop after the dentist and then ended up keeping the babies for the rest of the afternoon so they could have lunch and ride quads (and I could have some kid-free time! Thank you Pappy!!) I spend the rest of my day off doing laundry and cleaning up in peace and quiet before Gemma's soccer game!

At the peak of girl momming as Gemma begins Dawson's Creek of her own will, hahha! I have given her no spoilers or expectations and it has been an absolute DELIGHT to hear her discuss it in real time with no long scope ideas. If you were a Dawson's Creek girlie, then you understand how I am dyingggg for season 4 to hit her. HHahhaa, the girl loves a good yearn and slow burn and boy is she in for it. This is what all my girl mom dreams have been made of.

Ordering all the Halloween costumes!

Babe, to be your wife is my favorite thing about my life. happy 17 years of being married. A hundred more years wouldn't be long enough. I wanna love you 'til we're food for the worms to eat, until our fingers decompose, keep my hand in yours. I wanna live with you even when we're ghosts.

Time with family and friends. Rusty and Violet got a sleepover with the Maurers on Sunday night so they could play all day on the day off with their friends (thank you Deanna and Jake!) Peyton slept over with Gemma on Sunday night so those two girly pops could hang out with Red and Olive on Monday for the student day off. Grey got a sleepover with Pappy on Sunday night so they could hunt on Monday morning. Cousin Heather took the babies home on Thursday afternoon when I had to stay after school for Parent Teacher Conferences AND she brought me dinner (chicken flautas!! the yummiest). I am so blessed to call you family and my zero (love you Heather!!) Gemma got to babysit the Moore boys while Uch packed for the weekend away, Rusty hitched a ride to the football game with Abba and Chum after his football practice (thank you!) and Gemma and her friends got to go shopping with Abba (thank you!!)

Teaching about day of the Dead at the elementary school - the students colored alebrijes this week and we continued watching Coco. The 8th grade expo students worked on their geography week and Spanish 1 learned weather vocabulary and then presented a weather report (in Spanish) on a specific country. They did great and I loved watching them realize in real time that they were capable. My favorite part of teaching is seeing the kids realize that they are in fact brilliant geniuses who are constantly learning and growing. Spanish 2 continued working on their spooky stories and took the vocab test. I have loved reading them and seeing their creativity shine through. On Thursday, we had our second round of parent teacher conferences and I was able to get a lot of things accomplished (copying, reaching out to parents with positive notes, and decorating for Day of the Dead in my high school classroom). It was only a three day week with students for me (Monday was a teacher day for Indigenous Person's day and then I took off on Wednesday!) It was actually a perfectly timed breather to help me feel recharged before we head into the Halloween / Thanksgiving / Christmas holiday madness part of the school year!

Sporting with Rusty's last week of minors football! He had three practices and a playoff game on Saturday. He grew and learned so much this year, it was so much fun to watch him (proud of you Rustman!). Violet had one cheer practice, cheered at the majors football game (they won, so the championship game will be next week!), and water girled at the varsity football game. Gemma had her last three JH soccer games (ever!) We both cried a little bit after the last one, what a season and what a girl! (proud of you Roie). Grey and Coach daddy had team dinner and film, four practices, and a Varsity football game at Northern Cambria. I did some Team Mom stuff for the soccer boosters (banquet forms delivered, concession stand reminders) and double checked the Grey and Gemma both had their paperwork and money for the upcoming volleyball fundraiser tournament!

Making baked Italian chicken, potatoes, and veggies, gr beef tacos, homemade chicken/ bacon/ ranch flatbreads, chicken & broccoli alfredo, and Mississippi shredded chicken in the crockpot. I made some old fashioned no bake cookies for Heath's birthday party at Abba and Chum's house. Gemma and Peyt made banana nut mini muffins and soft pretzels during their sleepover (the blessing of teenagers does not end - not kidding! yummy snacks that I did not have to make or clean up! )
