Intentional Outdoor Hours:  646+ hours (of 1000)
My outdoors hours are definitely slowing down, but B and I spent some time outside on the tractor this week prepping our space for the Studerbabies event (mowing, trimming paths, etc).

Reading Wool by Hugh Howey and ooooooh, it's getting so good that I just want to be reading instead of doing anything else (lol). Thank goodness I always have it on me because I got stuck in traffic within a mile of our neighborhood due to crazy traffic from downed powerlines AND the paving project...but hey, uninterrupted reading time; I'll take it!

Saying farewell to my parents' home as the sell was finalized this week! The kids and I went over on Monday for lunch and a visit. Next up, Abba and Chum are headed north on a road trip through New England for the fall foliage and visiting family & friends.

Hosting a Studerbabies farm & free play event. We had beautiful weather that day and even the goats were wandering around in the space which the kids and parents all loved. We played, went for a little hike, visited the animals, and then had snack and a story (Ten Timid Ghosts by Jennifer O'Connelly). It was a good event and I had about 13 kids come to play!

Donating blood at the student council blood drive. I got that Gucci blood (O-), so they are always happy to see my veins (hah). Here's a reminder if you haven't donated in awhile to get your butt in to donate!

To do list checking off. I worked with the photographer, video advisor, a cookie making momma, and the jr high coach to get the end of season pizza party planned for Grey's football season. I also worked with the other 6th grade cheer & football moms to plan for our hallway/locker surprises. We spent an afternoon secretly decorating the sixth grade hallway and their lockers and leaving a bag full of surprises in their lockers. The cheerleaders got personalized brushes, cheer bag tags, megaphone cookies, squishy footballs, candy, and a Gatorade (thank you to all the cheer moms who helped fill their bags and decorate- you guys are the best!)

Finding playing cards everywhere because Rusty spontaneously became obsessed with building houses of cards (probably Youtube shorts made him do it....LOL)

Celebrating love at my former students' wedding! (I have students that are getting married!?!) What a blessing these two have been in my life. Maddie was part of my first group of Spanish3 students and then played summer league volleyball with us at Roxbury ever since. She and Marshall were high school sweethearts too - so I've seen the way the laugh together and care for each other. I am so thankful we got to see the start of the next journey of their life (thank you for inviting us to share in your special day - we love you so much!!)

Teaching only four days this week since we had Indigenous Person's day as an Act 80 day (and I called off for it, ha). Spanish 1 started their country infograph projects to close out their geography unit. Spanish 2 was tricky because my sophomores had PSAT testing one day, so I only had 3 days with them. We learned about the legend of El Silbon and got our novel vocabulary. Spanish 3 and 4 Read chapters 5-7 of La Llorona this week.

Sporting with two basketball practices, a cheer practice and then Violet had a minors cheer at the playoff game on Saturday (in the pouring rain!). Gem had a cheer practice, a basketball practice, and two basketball games. Grey had two football practices, a football lift, and an off-season baseball practice. Brandon and the Varsity team had team dinner & film, four practices, and a game at Cambria Heights (I stayed home with the four smallest) A big thanks to the Valentines for taking Grey and Gem went with the team to be on the sidelines with Ms. Jenilee as she does for every game (thank you!)

Making baked ravioli, baked deli sandwiches, leftover pulled pork sammies (thanks baby Heath!), chicken pot pie casserole, sloppy joes & roasted veggies, and cheese quesadillas. For Grey's half birthday I made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.
