Grey's 1st Hotel Stay-over

Friday, September 3, 2010

I had to visit Pittsburgh for a few customer meetings the week of my birthday, so with Greyson in tow we headed for his first hotel sleepover!  Aunt Uch and Aunt Kitty came out to sleep over our first night and, of course, we got the smallest room imaginable with only a queen size bed.  Somehow SCF got all cuddled up and settled in for a semi-solid night's sleep - hah!  While I worked with customers (or at Starbucks!) Grey hung out with Aunt Uch who stayed with us for the next two days:)

They did a lot of spit up cleaning (Aunt Uch's favorite! hah), sleeping...

...and giggling together.  We were very lucky to have her babysit:)

BooBoo also got to ride in his first elevator!

Then we met up with Stef and Mallory for dinner at Olive Garden where Mals and Grey had tabletop playtime....

...a few sweet cousin kisses:)

And the mommas had a deserving "soda"

And Grey even fell asleep at the dinner table!

On Wednesday, Katie & Sophia drove out to Pittsburgh to have lunch and go for a walk around the South Side.  Katie came to the rescue when my car broke down in the parking lot of an elementary school, and helped us move hotels with all our baby stuff.  She's a saint<3

Greyson and Sophia had a fantastically naked-baby playtime on the beds while we all stood back and giggled at how sweet and cute they were.  I took a mini-baby photo shoot and will have to save all the pics for their wedding memslide (www.memoryslide.blogspot.com)

Krista&Mike

We traveled to Johnstown for August 21st to celebrate with long-time friend (&childhood neighbor) Krista's wedding.  It was a beautiful ceremony (cried my eyes out the entire time) and they make an absolute perfect couple.  Greyson attended his first wedding ceremony and found ways to entertain himself...

After the ceremony, we stopped at Poppa's work to visit for a little.

And then Greyson spent the rest of the day with Gma & Pappy Butch.  He even got to go swimming, his favorite:)

And the entire Adams family (&boyfs) were all together for the reception.

My sisters and I got a chance to goof around:)

And we spent most of the night on the dance floor with the Hagerich girls.

It was a really great time and Krista&Mike are so in love and such a fun couple.  We are so happy for you, Krist.

Grey even got to make a new friend and meet one of Daddy's best friends, Mikey & Shanny.  Mikey is one of our favorite soldier heroes and we miss them!  It was great catching up for awhile on Sunday morning.

A Picnic at the (amusement) Park!

We were invited to meet up with family at Waldameer amusement park for a little picnic and fun.  There were lots of kiddies in our group and it was a blast watching their faces light up on all the rides.  They were so cute!

Greyson even got to go on some rides.  He went on a carousel for the first time and I was surprised how hard it is to keep your balance while just standing there.  Grey rode a horse(!) and I'm there trying to hold him (while he's going up and down) and then thing is spinning around a lot faster than I remembered them to spin.  Hah - another new hard job about parenting; trying not to fall over while balancing your child safely atop a carousel horse!

We also took a train ride that Greyson enjoyed.  We even went under a dark tunnel that Boo Boo didn't mind at all.  Then at the very end, the conductor came over the loud speaker to announce we were pulling back into the station and scared the crap out of Grey...well, really out of all of us, but Grey was the only one that started screaming on the top of his lungs.  hah.

I even got to ride some rides (thank you Mindy & the Fragales for watching Grey for me) and it was the first time in a long time that I've been on a rollercoaster.  I rode with Stef and we were giggling the whole way because we both had forgotten how much fun they were to ride.  Waldameer actually has a pretty stellar semi-new wooden rollercoaster that is wilder than it looks.  We both had a blast at the park and I can't wait until Grey is big enough to ride the rides with me!  We missed Daddy though, he was working, so guess we'll have to go again soon!
